In the Midst of the Storm

In the Midst of the Storm

Song by Shirley Caesar:

When the world that I've been living in collapses at my feet.  And when my life is all tattered and torn
Though I'm wind-swept, I've been battered, I'm gonna cling unto His cross.  I'll find peace in the midst of the storm

There is peace in the midst of the storm-tossed life.  There is an Anchor, there is a rock to build my faith upon.  Jesus Christ is my vessel so I fear no alarm.  He gives me peace in the midst of the storm

In my twenty-four short hours, years of living are brought to moments.  When life's final picture is taking form.  In the dark-room of my suffering I see a light that's coming and it's shining through

He gives me peace in the midst of the storm.  Now when my spirit has been broken till it's masked by misery.  When the doctor shakes his head and look forlorn.  Jesus comes to make my bedside
A cathedral of faith and love.  He'll give you peace in the midst of the storm There is peace in the midst of the storm-tossed life.  There is an Anchor, there's a rock to build my faith upon
(Hallelujah, Hallelujah)
Jesus Christ is my vessel so I fear no alarm. Won't God give you peace in the midst of the storm?
He'll give you peace in the midst of the storm.

As read the words of this song, it reminded me that we all face difficulty, fear, trauma, disaster, sickness, loneliness and so many things this this life seems to throw at us.  But HE (JESUS) is our peace in the midst of the storm.  HE will calm the troubled waters of our life.  HE brings peace in the midst of the storm.

I know when uncertainty like the storm we are facing now (Florence) enters our life, it is easy to be afraid and allow that fear to control us.  But I must remind you who the peace maker is, please allow HIM to speak to your storm right now.

How do your do that you ask. Well it is very simple:

1.     Think on good things, allow HIS promises to be fresh on your lips and in your heart.

2.     Fill your mind with HIS Word, read and meditate on HIS Word.  Quote the Word of GOD to you.  Tell yourself the truth of the Word.  Speak to your life, circumstances and fears.

3.     Stop what you are doing right now and praise HIM. Thank HIM for Salvation, Hope, Life, Family, Friends, being your Provider, Healer, the list can go on for awhile.

4.     Look for HIM in your storm!  Be encouraged, HE is in control, nothing surprises HIM.

5.     Speak the promises to others.

As we do this we will no longer focus on the circumstances and storm. We will be able to see HIM.  We will see HIS help, His way, HIS truth, again we will see HIM.

Be encouraged today in the midst of your storm.
